Job Description

Description

BOMBARDIER

Your ideas move people.

At Bombardier 65,400 employees in 23 countries work together to move people forward around the globe, one good idea at a time. If you have a good idea, well provide the environment where it will grow into a great product or an exceptional customer experience. Your ideas are our fuel.

We are looking for a Bid Specialist Operations & Maintenance for our Saint-Bruno (QC) facility.

You will build the Operations and Maintenance estimates and strategy for O&M of bids and for Extended Warranty offers to Rolling Stock bids. You will be located with the central bids & proposal team in St-Bruno and have a strong interaction with the Services Business Unit team located in Mississauga as well as with the Services Division mainly located in the United Kingdom.

In your role as a Bid Specialist Operations & Maintenance, you will:

Analyse the request for proposal from a technical standpoint and generate any risks and mitigation plans, cost drivers, questions that need to be asked to the customer or exceptions that must be taken;
Ensure questions are formulated in a strategic way to mitigate our risks without leading the competition to our issues;
Perform on site evaluations to understand technical risks associated with the premises, set-ups as well as car conditions;
Collate, challenge and correct the baseline life cycle cost data for the bid;
Elaborate and propose cost reduction ideas and innovative approaches to maintenance and/or operations that can help improve the efficiency and customer service and meet aggressive target prices;
Ensure these are well translated in the proposal and strengthen our position compared to the competition;
Determine a maintenance and operation schedule that optimizes the frequencies of inspections, repairs and replacement;
Optimize costing while meeting our reliability and availability commitments;
Elaborate narratives that relate to the maintenance and operations approach and defend them with governance in order to receive approval on the approach being taken;
Create relationships and formal information sharing with Services Division.
Lead the development of benchmarks, tools and best practices for operations and maintenance bids.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate, you possess:

A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent;
