We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to work in our Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada facility.


Your Role

The incumbent will be responsible for the operational performance improvement of our business units. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible to support management in site continuous improvement plans definition and execution, coordinate improvement workshops such as Kaizens, 3P and Value Stream Mapping, support and coordinate BOS (‘Bombardier Operations System’) deployment. The candidate will be proactive in identifying and applying industries best practices to improve operational performance. He/she will demonstrate leadership in implementing innovative and concrete changes to improve projects execution.

Your Challenges and Responsibilities
In collaboration with management, contribute to the definition of the sites operational plan by setting annual targets and strategies, analyzing the sites key performance indicators and identifying root cause;
In an expert role, support improvement projects and action plan definition and execution, along with management, in order to meet targets. Manage and coordinate special high complexity initiative execution in order to improve the sites operational performance and project execution;
Plan and coordinate BOSCell assessments and ensure sustainment of progress and performance of cells. Support cell teams in assessment preparations;
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement workshops that aim to improve cells and sites performance, by implementing and deploying lean manufacturing principles, quality improvement tools and industry best practices. Influence management on improvement workshops, required scopes and expected deliverables;
Train improvement agents and site personnel on continuous improvement tools and their application on the shop floor and offices. Act as a coach with agents in order to ensure know-how sharing and transfer.

Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Operations & Logistics Engineering or Operations Management. Other fields of study will also be considered with relevant experience in Continuous Improvement;
Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations/production environment;
Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing improvement exposure;
Proven experience in Six Sigma Black belt of master black belt is required;
Strong project Management skills, coaching and change management skills;
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
