We are looking for an Electrical-Mechanical Designer for our Kingston facility. Your Role You are a detail-oriented self starter, electrical-mechanical designer who will analyze, conceptualize and develop design drawings for wayside transit equipment. You possess the ability to be innovative and design for engineers anywhere in the world while working to specs and deadlines. Your Challenges Integral part of the design team being capable of taking the preliminary design from conceptual stage through to release for construction with minimum supervision. Required to solve various electrical, mechanical problems, participate in product development and develop electrical equipment layouts. Check and validate all final design documentation, parts lists and drawings according to design & contract requirements, to ensure completeness and accuracy. Creates full design packages using AutoCAD and/or Catia V5 for outsourcing of drafting with other Bombardier approved companies. Interact with Engineering in office, and at site facilities as required. Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications College Diploma or higher in Electrical-Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role. Excellent English communication skills. Experienced with AutoCAD (2008-2010) is required; experience with solid modeling package Catia V5 and virtual product management 3D Com, E3 electrical software and Inrail will be considered as assets. Demonstrated skill in product development with an understanding of Scada, CCTV and Comms. Knowledge of civil transit systems and design would be an asset.
