To support our development, we are looking for a:

JOB TITLE: Group Lead, Configuration Management
WORK LOCATION: Toronto, Ontario
REPORTS TO: Director, Quality Engineering


To lead a team of CM specialists, to establish and maintain configuration management systems and processes over the lifecycle of a project, to meet company and project goals with respect to quality, on-time, and cost.

Ø Motivate, train, assist, mentor, and manage a team of CM specialists
Ø To lead the team of CM specialists with the goal to foster an atmosphere of trust and motivation
Ø Organize, direct, and implement tasks with respect to workload, specialty, seniority, and scope according to product and project plans that are based on internal and contractual requirements
Ø Coordinate group reporting to the reporting manager and facilitate continuous, effective communication between the team and reporting manager
Ø Establish cost and time estimates for new and / or upcoming programs and projects including possible risks
Ø Support the reporting manager in employee appraisals, staff planning (including hiring and training of new staff), and in skill base maintenance and upgrades
Ø Interface and participate in activities directly and indirectly involved in CM processes, and identify parties that may be involved , within and outside the organisation, including and not limited to Projects, Production, HQA, WBS, Engineering, CM Tool Integration, Contract Manufacturers, and Vendors on configuration control and change through all phases of project
Ø Ensure all activities can be completed and delivered on time with appropriate scope and quality with available resources and conflicting schedules, goals, and deadlines
Ø Provides support services to resolve configuration management issues during product and project lifecycles; escalate and complete (as much as possible) corrective actions in a timely fashion
Ø Acts in the capacity of a Senior CM Analyst, as needed

Ideally you have:

University degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent
At least 8 years experience in engineering environment coupled with 5+ years experience in Configuration Management
Knowledgeable in CM practices and principles; must understand software and hardware development processes
Familiarity with commercial version control and problem reporting tools (e.g. ClearQuest, ClearCase, SAP)
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written
