For further information on Bombardier please visit our website. We are looking for a Manager Advanced Engineering for our Kingston facility. Your Role Responsible for providing overall management for Advance Engineering and Project Engineering to assure compliance with client specifications, schedule and budget requirements for both proposals (Advance Engineering) and projects (Project Engineering). This position will work in a matrix structure with project based teams; therefore the duties will be focused on consistency of engineering processes and problem solving. Your Challenges · Manage the advance and project engineering tasks, including preparation of design criteria, specification, statements of work, design drawings and other proposal and project documentation. · Coordinate the performance of trade off analysis between design options. · Coordinate the conduct internal technical reviews and design reviews. Ensure that designs are fully evaluated against the performance, safety and interface/integration requirements. · Review project requirements to establish the engineering scope of work. Define the manpower requirements and engineering activities with a corresponding schedule. Participate in the assignment and selection of engineering personnel to support the project. · Responsible for project cost control by ensuring that work undertaken and time spent is consistent with the man hour estimates and schedule. · Provide the engineering interface with other departments, including project management, procurement and contracts administration. Prepare progress reports as required · Responsible for engineering configuration management by directing and controlling all change order requests, and ensuring that disciplined documentation control procedures are implemented · Complete the performance review of personnel. Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required. Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the transit/rail industry is preferred; experience in a relevant industry will also be considered. Proven technical and professional expertise in an advanced engineering or project engineering role combined with a minimum of 2 years experience in management role. Excellent English communication skills. Must be familiar with systems integration. Strong process orientation would be considered an asset.
