We are looking for a Manager, Quality and Systems Assurance for our Kingston, Ontario facility

Bombardier provides state-of-the-art systems that enable rail vehicles to operate at increased speed and track capacity without compromising the very high safety standards. Our solutions have been delivered to 50 countries worldwide. In addition, Bombardier is developing applications that will lead to an environmentally friendly driving style, heightening our environmental contribution and provision of value based solutions to our customers.

The successful candidate will manage the development and operations of both the Quality Assurance and the Systems Assurance Groups (or Quality and Systems Assurance (Q&SA)). This manager will have the responsibility for Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) Engineering, as well as the responsibility for the Quality Assurance function.
The RAMS aspects of the position will also include Human Factors analyses, Spare Part Provisioning, LCC (Life Cycle Cost) analyses, and FRACAS (Failure Reporting Analysis & Corrective Action System).
Responsibilities within Quality Assurance include developing, implementing, evaluating, and continually improving quality systems to assure Systems processes, products and services meet internal and external requirements from proposal preparation through design, manufacturing, installation, warranty, and product service life.

Your Role
Ensure the Q&SA group is staffed with qualified, innovative, and committed RAMS and Quality personnel.
Develop the Q&SA professionals to achieve their full potential and create a broad knowledge base within the group.
Recommend salary adjustments. Select and train subordinates, set their objectives and review performance.
Plan activities of Q&SA personnel and assign people to proposals, customer-funded and strategic programs to support schedules and commitments.
Manage the Q&SA group to achieve budgetary project goals. Control expenditures.
Evaluate, choose, implement and maintain advanced computer-aided Q&SA tools to improve productivity and analysis capability.
Maintain open and effective interfaces with the other departments, including engineering and procurement, and provide support to manufacturing, marketing and field sites as required.
Represent BT SYS to internal and external customers in a professional and competent manner that reflects the commitment and experience of the organization.
Deploy rigor in following developed standards and processes for Q&SA in the areas of structured analysis, structured design verification & validation, testing, documentation and configuration control.
Ensure product and process standardization, across projects and proposals, to increase competitiveness of products.
Develop synergies with other BT organizations. Understand and implement corporate and department procedures.
Support all applicable BT committees and strategic teams in area of responsibility (Product Safety Committee, CAR/PAR Committee, BTIP Drive Team, CoC Safety, CoC RAM/LCC, Q Council).
Manage, assign corrective action and follow-up on qualifications and audits of major suppliers. This includes qualification and selection of suppliers and rating of supplier performance. Provide recommendation to suppliers and assure implementation of proper manufacturing processes and improvement of quality assurance plans during start-up.
Design and maintain quality control systems, oversee first article inspection and source inspection activities, determine disposition of non-conforming material and assign corrective action at the sub-system level. Track and categorize NCC. Develop, review, and approve Bombardier quality plans that communicate quality disciplines and commitments internally, to customers and to our products.

Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelors degree. Bachelors degree in engineering will be considered an asset, however Bachelors in other relevant field will also be considered.
Minimum 6 years of experience in a supervisor/lead position within engineering.
RAMS engineering experience is required.
Proficient communication in English, written and spoken.
Strong Computer skills: proficient with MS Office, Lotus Notes, Excel. Knowledge of SAP will be an asset.
Availability to travel internationally is required.
