We are looking for aMechanical Production Engineer for our Kingston (ON) facility.

You will be involved in large-scale projects starting from the conceptual design phase through manufacturing and testing of the experimental installations and systems designed by your team. You will make sound engineering decisions based upon information presented by your design team. Your team will be composed of design leads and mechanical designers and you will interface with management and project team providing progress reports and drawing deliverables.



In your role as a Mechanical Production Engineer, you will:



Manage and prioritize multiple issues in a schedule-driven production environment ensuring all problems raised have an owner and an action plan that suits the production schedule;
Evaluate proposed product designs prior to production for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards and specifications;
Investigate problems related to design and production and initiate the appropriate corrective actions;
Approve design changes and drawing releases;
Interface with the project team, management and other relevant departments to compile and provide information on technical support, system interfacing requirements and manufacturing;
Analyze project specifications to determine feasibility, establish design and drawing deliverables, mitigate risk and project work flow;
Provides status and progress reports to project team and senior management as required.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate, you possess:



A Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering;
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer;
A membership of the Professional Engineers of Ontario;
Knowledge of composite material, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (assets);
Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite Office;
Knowledge of Catia V5 (asset);
Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken);
Knowledge of French language (asset).
