We are looking for Production Supervisors to work in our Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada facility.

Your Role:

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for a defined work area or station. You will direct and organize hourly rated employees and material resources to achieve department or station production goals within budget and time schedules.

Your Challenges and Responsibilities:
Review on a regular basis, all drawings, process sheets, shop orders, budgets and schedules pertaining to line stations;
Determine appropriate production sequence for tasks required in station/area and initiate material and manpower requisition;
Assign work crews to maximize production within budget guidelines and set daily production priorities;
Anticipate needs for parts/materials/tools and follow-up to ensure availability when required;
Liaise regularly with upstream and downstream workstations, Methods, Engineering and other departments to ensure coordination of tasks/activities;
Monitor and regulate actual hours as compared to budgeted hours and the consumption of production materials and other supplies;
Ensure that the working environment and all work practices follow company and governmental safety guidelines;
Evaluate and improve methods on a continuing basis and maintain quality control within company and contractual guidelines;
Maintain discipline and direct work force in a manner consistent with company policy and the collective agreement;
Monitor employee attendance and punctuality; and evaluate newly hired personnel;
Provide daily or weekly reports regarding production problems, shortages, hours, etc.;
Ensure that the prevention of accidents and injuries is integrated into all aspects of the occupational environment, and into every work activity, including the purchase, design, construction, operation and maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications:
College degree will be prefered; High School diploma and/or relevant expereince will be considered;
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory or a team lead position within an industrial manufacturing environment is required;
Experience working in large scale manufacturing and unionized environment is required;
Seal Certification will be considered as an asset;
Strong English written and verbal communication skills;
Strong leadership skills to provide guidance to the production workers (team of 20 employees).
Must be willing and available to work on day, evening or night shifts. Opportunity to work overtime during the week-end.
