Job Description

Job Description : Supervise quality assurance testing and inspect grading, granular, concrete, asphalt, electrical and all other construction activities required as per the MTO Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual.
Identify and document deficiencies from the applicable contract specifications.
Review material test results and calculate penalties/bonuses for payment and/or determine remedial action.
Ensure approved materials are used and acquired from approved sources.
Maintain detailed diaries of contractors work, contract progress and inspection milestones.
Assist the office staff (Contract Administrator and Assistant, Office Administrator) in the verification and documentation of payment quantities.
Resolve routine technical problems on a day-to-day basis and refer problems to the Contract Administrator as necessary.
Liaise with contractor representatives, property owners and general public during construction to resolve problems.
Train staff.
