We are looking for Project Engineers for our Thunder Bay facility Your Role Under the direction of the Manager of Production Engineering; the incumbent will provide direction and coordination to the Engineering staff, Designers and Production Engineers within their areas of specialty (electrical, mechanical, interior). The Project Engineer is responsible for the design process and its timely production and adherence to the customer specification. Your Challenges •Provides technical direction to the Designers and Production Engineers. Carry out scheduled design reviews with company management, customer, and other Bombardier Sectors to ensure that engineering designs are in accordance with contract requirements and plant capabilities; •Coordinates, prepares and is responsible for the engineering documentation for which he is responsible in accordance with the Microplanner. Prepares a schedule of activities which will result in a timely delivery of engineering analysis, specifications, testing reports and drawings; •Participates in the preparation of the Microplanner and is held responsible for adhering to its scheduled dates for release of Engineering documentation to the organization. Ensures close ties with other personnel within the company to ensure the project functions smoothly; •Monitors schedule and project accounts to ensure cost effective and timely vehicle design; •Responsible for following the companys Health and Safety policies and procedures. Ensures that all unsafe conditions and practices are reported to the Manager for corrective action; •Undertakes other related duties as required. Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications •University degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Welding Engineering; •Professional Engineer of Ontario designation; •Five (5) to fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in a similar role; •Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a manufacturing and unionized environment; •Knowledge of personal computers using Microsoft Windows Platform; •Knowledge of Autocad and Catia v4; •Strong organizational and communication skills. •Proficiency in English is required and French would be a definite asset; •The candidate must be able to travel to the USA.
