We are looking for a Project Engineer for our Mississauga facility Your Role To coordinate and exercise functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, risk management and completion of engineering projects within the Material Solutions Department. Manage and approve the technical solutions provided by the engineering team regarding parts obsolescence, design and product upgrades, new product introduction, component repair and overhaul to ensure that customer service objectives are met. Your Challenges •Analyzes project specifications to determine feasibility, establish deliverables, costing, production time, risk and competitive analysis, and work flow. Interface with other internal departments for costing, system interfacing and technical support; •Evaluates proposed product design prior to presentation to customer for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards and specifications. Approves design changes and drawing releases. Coordinates design, production, testing and related activities; •Interfaces with the project team, Bombardier St. Bruno and/or Thunder Bay Engineering staff and other relevant departments to compile and provide information on technical support, system interfacing requirements and costing. Provides status and progress reports to project team and senior management as required; •Works with the project team and field staff to identify opportunities for new product development, upgrades and modifications; •Manages and approves the support services provided by the Engineering Team to Customer Service and Procurement to meet Customer needs. Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications •Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent is required; •Minimum of 5 years of proven project Engineering experience within the rail/transportation industry is strongly preferred; •Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, the latest version of Microsoft Project, Lotus Notes and must be familiar with general software; •Excellent English communication skills are required.
