We are looking for a Project Manager to work on the Toronto Rocket Project in our Thunder Bay, Ontario facility. Your Role: Reporting to the Program Director, you will control and coordinate all aspects of assigned projects in order to ensure maximization of profits and the delivery of quality products on schedule. Your Challenges and Responsibilities: With input from responsible sectors, develops, recommends and implements the program plan from contract signing through final car shipment. Develops and maintains a good working relationship with the customer. Initiates, reviews and approves contract changes and claims prior to release. Initiates and chairs contract start up meetings, customer program review meetings, internal coordination meetings and change control meetings. Liaise with quality assurance and engineering to ensure that FAIs, PDRs, FDRs etc., are called as required; and the necessary participants are informed and able to attend. Prepares and issues minutes of all internal meetings. Notifies senior management of present or potential problems requiring their attention and/or action; recommends solutions where possible. Reviews and validates draft customer meeting minutes, assigns actions and issues final customer meeting minutes. Monitors program performance, ensuring that specification and schedule requirements are met. Organizes and manages administrative and technical staff in attaining program objectives. Negotiates, in conjunction with support staff, statements of work, cost and schedules with the customer/consultants and/or subcontractors regarding contract changes. Provides input as required for bid preparation on similar projects. Responsible for ensuring that the prevention of accidents and injuries is integrated into all aspects of the occupational environment, and into every work activity, including the purchase, design, construction, operation and maintenance of equipment. Qualifications Your Experience and Qualifications Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business Administration will be preferred. Other field of study will also be considered with relevant experience in project management. Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment is mandatory. Demonstrated project management skills and experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
