We are looking for a Project Scheduler for our Thunder Bay facility

Your Role

The main purpose of this position is to assist the project managers and lead engineers to put together complex multi-level project schedules, ensure harmonization, and follow-up throughout the project. The project scheduler is also responsible to analyze the status of each phase of the project and to provide elements to improve the situation and develop work around plans as-required. The project scheduler will also be responsible to determine the impact of a potential change order on the existing project schedule.

Your Challenges

Prepare the program schedule that incorporates all activities of the project with a specail emphasis on the development phase of the project and communicate the information to all departments involved. The production detailed planning activities will be handled by production;
Maintain the existing schedules and analyze the results to elaborate an action plan to address the critical path in the schedule;
Ensure that the approved action plans are properly executed and ensure the critical areas of the schedule are properly communicated to everybody. Provide the program manager with all the required information to establish the current status of the program;
Run scenario analysis to determine the impact on the existing schedule of potential change orders;
Prepare the monthly reports that are specific to each contract.


Qualifications

Your Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering and/or Administration or the equivalent;
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in planning or a combination of equivalent experience;
Experience in the Railway industry or heavy manufacturing industry will be considered as assets;
Knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and Primavera;
Very good communication skills, both written and spoken.
