Job Description
Job Description Our client, a well known mining and civil engineering contractor is seeking to employ a Senior Mechanic to be based on a Mining Project in West Africa (Mauritania). You will be responsible for the efficient maintenance and repair of drilling rigs, mobile plant, equipment and other associated machinery to minimise ?down time? and the consequent disruption to operations. Your key responsibilities will be to maintain and repair rigs, large compressors and all other plant and equipment. You will supervise mechanics and trainees, train junior employees, produce risk assessments for all working tasks and ensure the Health and Safety of Employees. You must have considerable experience of working in a similar role with similar equipment, and must be able to work unsupervised. You will have current experience on drilling rigs (UDR, Diamec, Mustang, ROC and EDS) hydraulics, basic auto electrical and maintenance of large compressors. It is also essential that you can drive a truck and operate a truck mounted crane and be fluent in the English Language, both spoken and written.
